We have had breakthroughs, upheavals, surprises, transitions, heart breaks. We have had to let go of everything! We have let go of our home in China, our faithful truck and even the Chinese consulting company. Everything we owned was either sold, given away or let to die. We relocated to Thailand with only a few duffel bags of our belongings. Its has been a very hard journey but we know G-d is in the midst of this valley and he is leading us in His plans. Things must sometimes die in order for them to be resurrected in Chr-st. We don’t have all the answers but we know G-d does. We have been blessed with a home in Thailand and we were even able to buy a small scooter with the money we received from selling our old truck. We have let many things die. We only have to hold onto in this new season as we have return to the grass roots and the very heart of missions – J-sus!
During one of our last scouting trips in China we hiked a mountain range to an elevation of about 14,000 ft. Villagers take their cattle up to the grass lands to graze during the summer months. During this time the people live simple live in makeshift cattle sheds. Outside of these summer months the sheds remain empty and have been great places for us to camp. What if “gift packages” of the g-spel are left for the villages when they return with their yaks. A package that says “thank you for the use of your shelter”. A package that has a gift of maybe a hat and gloves or something, plus most important of all the g-spel. We are pr-ying about a special covert x-stream adventure team to hike these special packages into the mountains. If you want or know people who would want to help see this happen, contact us. A follow up team can then visit during the summer months.
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matt 28:19+20
We hear their are many Chinese scattered around the borderlands north of here in Thailand. This next month we hope to scout out the areas and see what opportunities there are in these areas. We hear that even though Chinese have been in Thailand for years, many of them still only speak Chinese and very little Thai. Please pr-y for open doors and divine appointments.
Our hearts are always to bless. We were unable to sell most of our household items and furniture in China. But we have some dear Tibetan chr-stian m-ssionary friends, a newly married couple who are expecting their first baby. They had nothing and so we gave most of out stuff to them. What a privilege to be such a blessing!
We have been invited back to the mountains to spend Christmas with our brothers and sisters again. After Christmas we are invited to go back with them to their villages. What a blessing to be able to visit new villages and places we have not been before. This is an open door and opportunity to extend relationships throughout the mountain region. For now we do not have the necessary funds to go to China. Please pr-y for G-ds provision.
It doesn’t take long before we always find places of ministry. This last few months we have been helping out friends from anything to running refugee kids back home to their camps after being in the city for medical care, helping a m-ssionary family with maintenance of their house and running b-bles by truck throughout Thailand. It is truly satisfying being able to serve.
One day while at the university food court we thought we heard chinese but gave it over to us missing China. Then again we heard the language that runs through our hearts. We turned around and asked the two girls talking if they were speaking chinese and to our delight they were. We exchanged phone numbers and had dinner together just a few weeks ago. They are students from mainland China. We also found out there are about 70 chinese students studying in the same university. There are many Chinese all over Asia. Students, businessmen and tourists. In Thailand we are free to pr-ach the g-spel. If we cannot be in China maybe G-d is bringing the Chinese to us.
“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” Matt 24:14
