Dear friends.
It is with our deepest regrets and a broken heart that we write to you today. Unless some major miracle happens by the 1st of September, that’s 40 days. KJ and I will be stepping down from our positions of full time missionaries in China. This decision has not come without much prayer and tears. It has been one of the most difficult decisions that we have ever had to make. As many of you know our time here in Thailand is coming to an end. In 40 days our visas will expire and we will have no other choice but to move out of Asia. China is full of harvest and yes the laborers are few and unfortunately getting fewer, but the laborers need tools and provisions for the harvest. What little resources we have had are just not enough. Our monthly support is around $1200 a month or less. We have spent the past 5 years raising funds for a guesthouse that would of allowed us to stay on the ground and help support us as well as the ministry. Currently we have raised about $35,000 of the $140,000, minus SOS expenses and an exploratory trip to China last month, needed to complete this project. At this rate, too many years will have past before the funding is completed. So the Guesthouse project will also be laid to rest.
It’s the choice of others whether they will support the work. God provides, but His people must answer His call to give, just as we have answered His call to GO.
We have spent a majority of our lives working in His fields. It’s not a lack of faith; it is just a lack of monetary resources. If faith can move mountains, then mountains would be moved. We know we have been called and chosen for this life. We had decided long ago that we would live and die here for the Chinese, Tibetans and minorities. We have and will completely trust in the Lord everyday of our life. He is our King, our Lord, our provider, and our every thing. We just have to believe that He knows what is best. We are an adventurous couple who have sat far to long here in Thailand waiting for something to happen. It is time for a new adventure to begin in our lives. Unfortunately it will not be in China.
Please pray for our transition out of the field and into this next season of our lives. We are still deciding where we are moving. It will either be somewhere in Europe or America. We had given everything to be here. So we leave having no home, no vehicle, no employment and no savings waiting for us. We have no career to go home to either. We will be starting from scratch, all over again. This will be an extremely difficult time both emotionally and physically for us. We could really use your help in any way possible.
For those of you few faithful supporters, we ask that you continue to support us for the next 6 months during this transition. This will greatly help us to get back onto our feet and integrated back into western society. A huge thank you for all the support and encouragement you have been to us over the years. We have been a blessing more than you know. We know this news is just as shocking and heartbreaking for you as it is for us. We would also appreciate other financial help from those of you reading this news. The next steps of this journey will not be easy financially.
One last thing, Servants of Servants (SOS), the 501-c3 non-profit that we use to receive our support has informed us as of Nov 1st they will not longer be able to continue to do so. We wish to thank SOS very much for their service; it has been very much appreciated.
Until All Have Heard,
